One of the websites I tended to overlook was Isawitfirst.com. Maybe it’s because of its resemblance to PrettyLittleThing.com which I’ve purchased several things from already and do love what they offer – if I may say so myself. Isawitfirst.com almost looks like its less successful sister…it’s Solange Knowles to Beyonce.
However, a year ago or less – can’t really remember – I saw a gorgeous dress for sale and whenever I see something that makes me go ‘WOW’ then you know I have got to have it. Below it’s the dress I’m talking about.
So, I registered and filled in all the necessary info. I clicked the dress into my digital shopping cart and then…
Nothing.
I couldn’t buy the dress because Isawitfirst.com didn’t ship to the Netherlands. I found that weird though since they did ship to several European countries. I don’t remember which countries they specifically shipped to (except for France) but I think Spain and Germany were on the list.
Was it a red flag?
Absolutely!
Perhaps they weren’t legit. Every time I discover a new web store there’s always that fear…that doubt about their quality and services being offered. There are a lot of people willing to scam others for money out there after all.
So, I contacted and bombarded them with a million and one questions. They didn’t, indeed, ship to the Netherlands. I was disappointed, to say the least.
However, soon after my chat with them, they did included the Netherlands in their shipping list. When I mean soon after, I mean within a week! Another red flag? Once again; abso-fucking-lutely!
But because they did this for me – only one person who complaint – I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and I purchased the dress. They shipped it quickly; within a week and the dress looked exactly like in the pictures. I was in love with it.
When I put it on, I was on the moon but then had a crash landing. The dress was not fitting me well. I’d ordered a UK size 14 or EU size 42 which is my size (I know; I’m a big ass girl). It should had fitted me nicely but it didn’t. I had to send it back and they did refund me the money which I (for some reason was surprised).
My review then was five stars. Sizes vary so it was forgivable. However, I did order from them again like three weeks ago and was disappointed because this time around I ordered sizes way above my own.
I ordered sizes 16 and 18 and guess what? They didn’t fit me at all including sizes 18! I get that I may be in a different situation as a MTF trans but that would be justifying this shit. I buy from a lot of online shops and never have an issue with clothes and shoe sizes 14 with a few exceptions here and there but they’re far and few in between.
So what’re their excuses?
They offer amazing fashion and people do buy from them. Maybe it’s just me but since this is my review and experience I will give them two stars out of five. Sorry Isawitfirst.com but when someone buys five items from you with varying sizes then odds are that at least one would fit…but none did. You do get points for the quality of the clothes and the good customer service.
Would I buy from them again?
Sending shit back is a hassle and something I don’t really like doing. Soooo, no. I wouldn’t.
